Mental health support group opened in King’s Lynn
Faith in Community, a new mental health support group has been launched in King’s Lynn to tackle loneliness and isolation.
Based at
St. Faith’s Community Hub on Gayton Road,
Faith in Community Mental Health Support Group has been set up in direct response to a growing need for a safe and compassionate space dedicated to overcoming loneliness and isolation.
Stewart Oddie, one of the facilitators, explains that the group is built on the foundation of shared experiences, empathy, and mutual support, where every voice is heard and valued.
Stewart Said: “Together, we’ll explore strategies to combat loneliness, nurture positive relationships, and rebuild a sense of community. This is a place to connect, heal, and grow alongside others who truly understand.”
The drop-in sessions are supported by St. Faith’s Church. Team Rector, Rev Kyla Sorensen confirms that the church believes in helping people find meaningful connections and to feel less alone. She said: “We wanted to support this initiative, to give it a home in the heart of Gaywood, so it can reach as many people as possible.”
St. Faith’s Community Hub is a centre of mission for Gaywood, a place where church and community come together in partnership.
“We are committed to helping anyone in our community who might be feeling disconnected. The hub was built for this purpose, so that groups such as the Faith in Community Mental Health Support Group can provide a safe and welcoming space for anyone who needs support,” said Rev Kyla.
The group runs on alternate Fridays, all year round, 10am to 12noon. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat.
