Aylsham Church’s phone box larder
Aylsham Parish Church has set up a Community Larder in a disused phone box on the Blickling Estate, to support the local community during the current lockdown.
The church purchased the old red phone box in Blickling a few months ago with the intention of using it as a community facility. It has now had shelves installed and is operating as a pantry for the community.
Aylsham Church’s facebook page says “With our friends from the National Trust at Blickling we have turned it into a Community Larder to help out those who might need it during our current crisis.
It can be used by anyone who lives on the parishes that make up the Blickling Estate (Aylsham, Blickling, Itteringham, Oulton, Ingworth). Please do take anything you need.
To donate - just pop in whatever you can.”
The initiative has received much positive feedback on the Aylsham Church Facebook page, such as “a dream come true”, “that is amazing”, “This is a lovely idea. Such a nice thing to see people being considerate and kind to others”, “What a fantastic idea!”
