Mid Norfolk’s Intents Youth Festival gets even bigger

With seminars on a wide range of Christian topics, inspirational speakers, creative workshops, exciting games and hot chocolate mountains the Intents 2017 Youth Festival in May is aiming to serve even more youth groups from across Norfolk this year.

Intents16600Intents Youth Festival, now in its ninth year of operation, takes over a farm near Mattishall for the May bank holiday each year, with a programme of seminars, workshops and games encouraging 11-16 year olds to think about God and their faith.

Intents 2017 is ideally set up for youth workers and youth leaders from across Norfolk and beyond to affordably bring their groups to, knowing that their young people will have a great time and the opportunity to grow spiritually.

The festival, which is run in partnership with Urban Saints and part of the Fountain Network, will run in two ‘weekend’ sessions: Week A, from May 26-29, and Week B from May 31- June 3.

Sequoia Mallett, from the Intents team, said: “Following on from the success of 2016, which saw the introduction of a second ‘week’, and more than 200 kids enjoying themselves and spending the weekend with Jesus, we are hopeful for an equally fun and fruitful year in 2017.”

Intents166002Already planned are seminars on everything from the basics of Christianity to mission and evangelism to prayer drumming.  There will be evening meetings full of worship and teaching, and a games schedule bursting at the seams with wacky and wonderful things planned by Jamie Jolly from the Ministry of Joy

There are also plans for craft workshops, video editing classes, and possibly even a daily vlog.

When the young people are not crafting, competing, or learning about Christianity they can enjoy a signature hot chocolate ‘mountain’ and other sweet treats from Intents Café, the buzzing social centre of the festival.

Delegates can also use the Prayer Dome, full of quiet activities and decked out in fairy lights, as a silent space, to reflect on things learnt and experienced during the weekend, alone or with others.

The festival is a fully catered event with all meals cooked fresh on site by the team and included in the ticket price of £45 per young person, with most dietary requirements joyfully accommodated.
