Christian youth project extends work in Norwich

ENYPCattonGroveNorwich Christian youth project ENYP is excited to be the delivery partner for youth activities in the Catton Grove area of Norwich under the Big Local area initiative.

Since starting in April 2015, the ENYP team have been working with young people in schools - and on the streets through detached youth work - and has now launched some new activities for high school age in the catton Grove area.

Every alternate Thursday night a youth club called ‘Download’ will be running at the Catton Grove Community Centre from 7pm–8:30pm.

The club will have activities such as xbox, wii, pool table and café zone available, as well as the opportunity for young people to gain a GCSE in the arts through the Bronze and Silver levels of the Trinity College London Arts Award.  Young people will have the chance to take part in creative workshops including photography, DJ and art, helping them to complete their Arts Award portfolios.  Alongside the club at the centre, trained and qualified members of the ENYP team will also be running sports activities on Pointers Field, developing football coaching and teams.

ENYPThe team have already engaged with over 60 young people and have undertaken a series of consultation exercises to listen to the views and need s of young people in the area.  Only 15% of these young people had engaged in any recreational activities before, so the ENYP delivery in the area is helping to meet a gap in provision.  Feedback from young people, parents and the local community has been extremely positive, and the team look forward to building on this success in the coming months.

The remaining dates for provision in Catton Grove for this term are: 21st May, 4th June, 18th June, 2nd July, and 16th July.
