NCFL masthead 2023

Team profile: King's Community Church FC

KingsFCTeam450King's Palace and King's United men's teams are part of King's Community Church FC and play in the men’s division of the Norfolk Christian Football League.

Both teams are in their second year in the NCFL, having previously been one team under the name, King's Park Rangers

King's Community Church FC Chairman and King's Palace manager, James Wilson, said: “There was such a demand from players to play for the team that two teams were made from the one.  As a team we appreciate the chance to enjoy playing football with mates and also to play without taking ourselves too seriously. There's a friendly atmosphere around the club and a sociable culture.”

King's Park Rangers achieved promotion to Div 1 of the NCFL in 2012-13 by finishing second in Div 2 behind another King's team, Kings All Stars, which has since disbanded. Since then, King's Palace finished second in Div 2, achieving promotion in 2013-14. They also won the Shield and the Fair Play Award in 2013-14. King's United finished a respectable third place in the same season and came runners-up to Palace in the Shield final.

KingsFCTeamClub450King's United boast the scoring prowess of Sam Consterdine who was one of the league’s highest goal scorers.  Palace similarly have Al Coulson to be proud of for the same reasons. Players of the Season last year were Tom Grayling (United) and Matt Buxton (Palace) respectively.

James said: "It's a real joy to be involved with King's Football and enjoy the beautiful game with a cracking group of lads who make King's Football what it is."

We would love other teams from the NCFL, both men's and youth, to send us a few details and a picture or two, so that we can feature you in our next article. Please email details to keith.morris@netwoknorwich.co.uk
